| Game History Autumn 2004 In the autumn of 2004 I thought I had the knowledge to build a manager game of large complexity so I started to think of building one of my own since my experience of online manager game didn’t fulfilled my requirement. So I checked my old computer for some tools and I found both an old database for data storage and an old text editor for code writing and now there where no excuse for not starting. Step by step the game was built until there was time to take the first stumbling steps in public. Spring 2005 In the spring of 2005 the game was introduced on the Internet and became public for the very first time. It contained 64 teams and four divisions in two countries. The first problem was discovered, how to get people to find this game? It was luckily not a big problem so the game could start rolling and soon there was an expansion. Summer 2005 The game became too small after just one season and an expansion was necessary. After the update the game contained 256 teams and 16 divisions in eight countries. Now I did get a new problem. How to support a game with 256 teams with enough managers. I did somehow manage to get a good balance in that as well. Spring 2006 In the winter/spring the game was discovered by a larger site and I agreed to assimilate the game with their site and the game was reintroduced Winter 2006 The partnership ended and the game was on it's own again. Spring 2007 The game moved to a new host with a more reliable server. Autumn 2007 Once again the game became too small and an expansion was necessary. The game expanded to 512 teams and 32 divisions and eight countries Today Throughout the years a lot of new features, too many for me to tell about, has been addded to the game, mainly thanks to all managers with your wonderful suggestions of game improvements. Nowadays I am not sure if I have that knowledge to ever complete a manager game but one thing is for sure, my requirements on how an online manager game should be, is about to be fulfilled. By the way, I am still developing the game with my old computer(800 Mhz, 512 MB RAM and 20 GB harddrive), plain text editor and an old version of Access database. Future ! | ||
